| Neuro Motor Clinic Children with neuromotor disabilities can receive a comprehensive evaluation and treatment services at Coos County Family Services through a team care approach. CCFHS provides consultants to the parents, the school and the child’s PCP. A neuromotor disability is characterized by an inability to control gross and/or fine motor functions. Typically, one or more of the following may be occurring: spasms, tonal problems, involuntary movements, gait and mobility control. Neuromotor dysfunction is usually permanent, and treated with physical therapy, applied devices, and education for both the disabled child and caregivers. A professional team visits the area 3-4 times a year: • Gregory Melkonian, MD - specializes in Pediatric Orthopedist from Children’s Hospital in Boston, MA • Camila Jones, MD -Developmental Pediatrician from Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center/ Bureau Special Medical Services • Colleen Sullivan, Pediatric Physical Therapist, Equipment specialist and orthotic vendor. Participation in this clinic gives children access to other Bureau Programs such as Feeding and Swallowing.
