Coös County Family Health Services (CCFHS) provides free breast and cervical cancer screening to women who meet the program requirements. The Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening is for women ages 21-64 that have no health insurance, may have insurance that does not cover screening tests, or have a high deductible.
The Breast and Cervical Cancer Program provides a complete physical exam including; breast and pelvic exam, Pap smear, mammogram (if applicable) and other related screening (Diagnostic mammogram, Breast ultrasound, Surgical consultation, Aspiration of breast cyst, Breast biopsy, Stereotactic biopsy, or Colposcopy). Cervical cancer screening is for women who have never had a Pap test or have not had one in over 5 years. Mammograms are recommended for women 40 and over.
Women who are 65 and do not have Medicare B may qualify for the Breast & Cervical Cancer Program.
AVH participates in the Breast & Cervical Cancer Screening Program. Women can be referred by CCFHS for GYN services at AVH Surgical Associates located on Page Hill. Mammograms will be ordered at AVH.
Women who need treatment after the screening process are eligible for BCCP Medicaid.
